Professional Disclaimer

Our Website | Your Understanding

1. No Automatic Architect-Client Relationship

Viewing the website, submitting an inquiry, downloading general information or engaging in a brief introductory conversation does not by itself establish an architect-client relationship.

2. Project-Specific Services

Project-specific professional services are provided only after the project is accepted and the applicable written agreement is completed.

3. Codes, Zoning and Permits

Requirements vary by project and jurisdiction. Unless expressly included in the written scope, website information and limited review services do not constitute comprehensive code or zoning analysis and do not guarantee permit approval, agency acceptance or processing time.

4. Consultants and Existing Conditions

Structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and other consultant services are not included unless expressly stated. Existing conditions are not verified unless field verification is part of the agreed scope.

5. Licensure

McAllister Architecture & Design is licensed to practice architecture in the State of California only. The firm is not registered or licensed as an architect in any other state, and references to "architecture," "architect" or "architectural" on this website describe California licensure.

6. Projects Outside California

Project location is evaluated before any service is accepted. Outside California, services are offered only for project types that are exempt from architectural licensure in that state, and only to the extent they do not constitute the practice of architecture there. Exempt project types vary by state and commonly include single-family homes and small accessory structures; size, story, unit-count and cost limits apply in many states and are confirmed before acceptance. Drawings prepared for projects outside California are not signed or sealed. The local building department may require review, sealing or engineering by a professional licensed in that state, and the client is responsible for engaging that professional where required.

7. States Where Services Are Not Available

McAllister Architecture & Design does not provide design, drafting, plan review or consultation services for projects located in Nevada, New Jersey or New York, and does not accept inquiries for projects in those states. Residents of those states should contact their state's architectural licensing board for a locally licensed professional: the Nevada State Board of Architecture, Interior Design and Residential Design (nsbaidrd.org), the New Jersey State Board of Architects (njconsumeraffairs.gov), or the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions (op.nysed.gov).
